Published Reviews
Booklist Review: "Gr. 2^-4. Short chapters read like individual stories in this chapter book about Leo (called Dogboy by his big sister) and his pal Johnny, who are looking forward to a summer of nothing but fun. Summer looks doomed, however, when Leo hears his mom talk about needing help with the housework, and he discovers that his Little League team has gone coed and his pesky cousin and mean sister are going to be around. His only solace is the deal he makes with his sister to acquire the backyard tree house. Leo and his entourage are likable enough characters, and the quick pace will make this an enjoyable read for those venturing into chapter books. Just don't expect a traditional ending. What's here leaves the reader hanging. --Helen Rosenberg"
