Published Reviews
Booklist Review: "Best Books for Young Adults (BBYA) is a classic, standard resource for collection building and on-the-spot readers' advisory. Every library that serves young adults should already have the second edition (2000); this third edition is just as essential and adds titles from 2000 to 2007. It is slightly longer than previous editions, with essays about the BBYA Committee's selection process and trends in publishing, plus lists of  best books by year (1966-2007)  and  BBYA top ten titles for 1997-2006. Thematic lists are now shorter, but the annotations are just as useful, and the layout is more inviting. In fact, it's suggested that the thematic lists be reproduced for distribution to students and parents. Fiction themes range from  Abuse  to The World in Conflict.  Nonfiction lists focus on biography and world issues. Several combination lists include both fiction and nonfiction titles. All of the BBYA selections are cumulated in the Books by Author,  section, making it the longest  in the book. Absolutely indispensable for school and public libraries.--Gooden, Susan Copyright 2007 Booklist"
