Summary

Booklist Review: "Angels are a perennially favorite topic, and this slim book does a nice job of mixing several Bible stories with short poems and snippets of verse about them. Drawing from the Old and New Testaments, Joslin includes tales about Adam and Eve, Jacob (though not about his wrestling with the angel), and Daniel. Of course, she also includes stories of the Annunciation, the birth of Jesus, the discovery of the empty tomb, and, rather surprisingly, several elements from Revelations. There are traditional Irish poems, as well as some from the writings of saints. The easy tellings are matched by light, airy artwork, often full-page, which presents angels that are light-years away from medieval portraits of angelic figures in heavy dress.
