Summary
The era-defining challenge for the current youth generation is global warming and resulting climate change. Human beings must find a way to dramatically reduce their per capita carbon emissions if catastrophic climate change is to be slowed or averted. Individuals can make a big difference over time with the small consumer choices they make every day. This book offers a wealth of tips for how to shop both smart and green and reduce your carbon footprint upon the increasingly fragile environment.

Published Reviews
Booklist Review: "This welcome title in the Your Carbon Footprint series prompts teens to consider the environmental implications of their lifestyles. A review of global warming's causes and effects gives way to specific, planet-protecting choices, such as food purchases. The tone is occasionally strident: dry-cleaning should be off limits, for example. And lifestyle suggestions, such as cooperative housing, seem aimed at adults rather than at teens. Recommendations for community action (organizing petitions and boycotts), though, are on-target for a young audience, and the clear, focused information (illustrated with numerous color photos) will inspire and educate environmentally concerned young people. A glossary, bibliography, and resource lists conclude.--Engberg, Gillian Copyright 2008 Booklist"
