Published Reviews
Booklist Review: "Since 1959, Outstanding Books for the College Bound lists have been compiled every five years by a committee of YALSA and ACRL members. The lists are primarily geared to students in grades 9-12. This book is a compilation of the 1999, 2004, and 2009 lists and includes nearly 200 fiction and nonfiction books arranged by categories that reflect college curricula. Part 1 deals with a history of the list and suggestions for using the list in public, school, and academic libraries as well as with lifelong learners. Part 2 offers annotated lists, the most useful being Outstanding Books for the College Bound and Lifelong Learners, by Genre, 1999-2009. An appendix with policies and procedures of the selection committee and an author-title index complete the volume. Librarians can use this text for collection development, readers' advisory, programming, and more.--Glantz, Shelley Copyright 2010 Booklist"
