Summary
An ex-G.I. stays in Paris after the war to study painting, supported by a rich American. The young soldier falls in love, but unfortunately, she is engaged to an older man. Special features include a 2002 documentary, Gene Kelly: Anatomy of a Dancer.
A Gershwin score and the dancing of Kelly and Caron are at the center of this fluid, visually beautiful love story set in post-war Paris. The ballet sequence, filmed in the style of Impressionist paintings, is legendary.
