The Wheels on the Bus. this brightly illustrated picture book tells of a joyful, raucous ride, as a variety of animals take the bus through a jungle setting. The usual verses are gone, but the repetitive pattern of the lines is very much the same as in the original, making it easy for listeners to sing along. Each species gets a verse here, offering plenty of possibilities for children to make animal sounds and motions: the lion roars, the flamingos flap, the crocodiles snap, the bush babies snore, and so on. Created with bold brush stokes of vibrant colors, the large-scale illustrations feature friendly animals in a variety of playful scenes. In the end, they arrive at their destination and SPLISH! SPLASH! SPLOSH! in the water together.
