A smuggler is hired by an eccentric tycoon to uncover his murky past in a minor but still entertaining effort by the wunderkind director of "Citizen Kane," whose later films, including this one, were reedited by meddling producers. Included is the original American release, the European version (called "Confidential Report"), and a new version assembled for this package honoring Welles's intentions.
