Published Reviews
Booklist Review: "If Michael Crichton had written a military techno-thriller, it might have been a lot like Coyle's latest book. Continuing his efforts to mine current developments in military technology for his fiction, the author focuses on robotics specifically, unmanned ground combat vehicles (UGVs). In this fast-paced novel, Nathan Dixon, a career Army man, is tasked to look into a so-called friendly fire incident in which a UGV fired on Iraqi Army soldiers. Dixon soon finds that there are people who don't want his investigation to proceed smoothly: a representative of the company that manufactured the UGV, for example, and a commanding officer whose concern for his own career seems to outweigh his concern for the victims of the UGV's mysterious actions. Dixon quickly learns that, in order to determine the reason for the friendly fire, he'll need to navigate an elaborate maze of conspiracy and cover-up. Coyle's many fans will need no persuasion to pick up this novel.--Pitt, David Copyright 2009 Booklist"
