Published Reviews
Booklist Review: "Inspired by J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter series, two Middlebury College students formed a muggle quidditch club in 2005 and adapted the sport for non-magical folks. Though players can't fly, they must straddle brooms. Beaters wield the three bludgers (dodgeballs), while chasers attempt to throw the quaffle (volleyball) through one of three hoops guarded by the keeper. The snitch, a runner unaffiliated with either side, tries to evade both teams' seekers. The sport rapidly spread, and today the International Quidditch Association organizes the World Cup and continental championships in alternate years. The book's clean, simple page design showcases the many colorful action photos. The text presents a quick, useful overview of the game's basic rules and history. From the Greater World of Sports series (6 titles), a good first introduction to quidditch."
